New York is preparing for a brutal snow storm. 36″ is the prediction.
This is the MAINE MONUMENT in Central Park. It was built in 1901 to honor the crew members of the USS Maine battleship who died when their ship exploded in 1898. The name of this allegorical statue is: THE PACIFIC OCEAN
An unexpected snow store blanketed Central Park this morning. Was supposed to be two inches……….mother nature dumped ten. Beautiful to look at….but tomorrow it will be a sea of slush.

DETROIT got dumped on ….AGAIN. Biggest snow fall since 1880.
My friend, Richard Bell, from Cass Tech High school…….[we were students together in the Art Department in 1959]……sent me these photos.
Dick now lives in California……but has returned to Detroit to see the disaster for himself.
I don’t think her little shovel is gonna do the trick!

The only place to be this morning in Central Park was the Boathouse Cafe overlooking the snow covered lake.
Getting there was the problem! Too much snow……………blowing like a blizzard.
I felt just as cold as this poor guy.
The Donald decided it was to be a RAINBOW day!

Woke up this morning to a snow show. Crispy………white powder.
BUT you could freeze your butt off. 10º. Bloody awful. Frostbite territory.
This morning when I looked out my window…………the blizzard had begun.
At 7 a.m. Central Park was nearly wiped out by fog. Beautiful.
Skiers and skaters were already out………our first snow of the winter.
Chase Finley……….soloist with the NYC Ballet……..on his way to class.
Really now. New Yorkers are crazy to be out in this weather.
Does she use the umbrella………….NO! Go figure !
With those outfits………they’re ready for the “runway”.
When I got to Lincoln Center the snow plow had already cleared the plaza.
These are the tents that house the “Runway Shows”. 1000 seats on the upper left……600 seats on the right. Tent in the middle is the VIP room. Tent in the foreground is for registration.
The cast from the TV show …….”FREAKS”……….braved the storm. Yes…………he really is 8 feet tall.
She is darling…………at 3 feet tall.
He is NOT part of the “Freak show”. DUH !!!
That is NOT A MASK! Really !

These two created quite a “storm” all on their own.
And a BEAVER gave up his life for my cap………and I gave up $750 bucks at Sak’s
