This afternoon my friend Julie from Paris and I were picnicking in Central park at Columbus Circle.
We met two charming art students who were sketching and painting and we admired their work.
Jean-Georges new restaurant ABCV at ABC Carpet………..is a delightful addition to the NY restaurant scene. The menu is so precise……..nothing is random………the ingredients of every dish on the menu, as well as the bar drinks, are all gearged toward your health……..no gimmicks used here.
You will not experience the smells of roasting meats floating thru the air.
The room is so light…….so airy………a touch of color in the lime green chairs……nothing in the decor that will compete with the food on your plate.
An insert in the menu goes into detail of the health benefits of the various plants that will show up on your plate…………colorful…….beautiful………not overly fussy, just ingredients that go sublimely together……….layers of taste sensations that surprise your taste buds.
CLICK ON THE MUSHROOMS: Huge…..and a dressing charged with yuzukosho. You are also informed that vitamin B will help manage your emotional and physical stress [who knew this lowly fungus could do that]. The caramelized fennel is a surprising accompaniment.
The pavlova with berries and sorbet is adorned with snippets of “Johnny-jump-up” pansies.

The NYC PRIDE MARCH started in 1970 as a civil rights demonstration on the first anniversary of the STONEWALL Uprising.
Now it is one of the world’s most famous LGTB events. Today there were 350 marching contingents…………37,000 marchers and 2 million spectators.
It was a day for LOVE…………and pride in being gay.
It is a year when gays are under stress over TRUMP’S policies. There were many groups in the parade today focused more on protest rather than celebration.

GAY and PROUD…..the Pride March in NYC today. It is wonderful to be confident with who we are and proud of our bodies…and no shame in showing them off.
TWO MILLION spectators lined the route down 5th Avenue.
37,000 marchers joined the parade. It was exhilarating.
