The star salesman it this cute guy.  You cannot walk away without at lease three jars……of………..your old favorites or some new ones.

RESTAURANT WEEK in NY • the LINCOLN RESTAURANT

Restaurant Week is when every New Yorker can afford to eat out………..and lunch is 3 courses for $29.

The dining room is spacious and gracious.  Light and bright.

The wait staff is professional………they don’t “hover”………but are right there when you need them.

LUNCH on the Terrace on a lovely Saturday afternoon

Julie is visiting from France so I put together a vegetarian lunch and invited Barbara and Paul to join us.

Paul baked a cheesecake…………it was sublime.

Today at the Farmers Market……….MUSHROOMS

HEN OF THE WOODS………Maitake……..Shiitaki……..such wonderful earthy tastes…………available at my local Farmers Market……….every Sunday morning.

.

I bought three baskets…………dinner will be a medley of “stirfry”.

ABCV the new Vegetarian Restaurant at ABC Carpet

Jean-Georges new restaurant ABCV at ABC Carpet………..is a delightful addition to the NY restaurant scene.  The menu is so precise……..nothing is random………the ingredients of every dish on the menu, as well as the bar drinks,  are all gearged toward your health……..no gimmicks used here.

You will not experience the smells of roasting meats floating thru the air.

The room is so light…….so airy………a touch of color in the lime green chairs……nothing in the decor that will compete with the food on your plate.

An insert in the menu goes into detail of the health benefits of the various plants that will show up on your plate…………colorful…….beautiful………not overly fussy, just ingredients that go sublimely together……….layers of taste sensations that surprise your taste buds.

CLICK ON THE MUSHROOMS:  Huge…..and a dressing charged with yuzukosho.  You are also informed that vitamin B will help manage your emotional and physical stress [who knew this lowly fungus could do that].  The caramelized fennel is a surprising accompaniment.

The pavlova with berries and sorbet is adorned with snippets of “Johnny-jump-up” pansies.

JULY 4th • Luncheon on my Terrace
