Is it ART……YES. When I see it…..I snap it……and I love it.
FACES……….On the STREETS…..at the FLEAS……
in the SHOPS and GRAFFITI on the walls.
Always amusing and never boring.
THESE BRUSH FACES are my favorites.
MY CAMERA and I roamed the streets of Bushwick today………the Graffiti was fine……..but it was the people that caught my eye.

This old warehouse in Brooklyn is doomed …..will be destroyed and replaced with luxury condos………….42 stories high. The developed David Wolkoff had his painters sneak in one night and whitewash the factory.
The building is filled with artists studios……and they all have to move out.
New York’s Landmark Preservation Commission denied landmark status.
The Visual Artists Rights Act of 1990 protects “work that is incorporated into a building”. The artists tried to use this ACT to save the building and it’s art. No luck!
The Huffington Post ran an article…trying to save 5POINTZ……didn’t help.
So long………….RIP
He has every right to be kissed off!
ZESU…….the artist who created this.
SCREAM! I screamed right back.
5POINTZ is no more…………..a New York tragedy
This is what it looks like today! WHITEWASHED !
On Grand River Avenue………across from the abandoned Train Station………

Well………maybe I looked them in the face. I snapped about 100 this week but chose these for my blog. More will follow.
Most of these were shot at the 25th street GARAGE flea market. Others here and there on the streets of New York.
Saturday morning breakfast is always the same menu. GRITS, fried tomato, white toast, jumbo egg and jam.
And, of course, the New York Times. It’ a steal at $350 a year delivered right to your door every morning at 6am……or steal at from your neighbor……for free.
The subway station at 72nd street is a gem…….right in front of the Ansonia Apartments.
Another “Jim”……….or some would say…….”carrot top”.
Over the Manhattan Bridge into Brooklyn……and 6 more stops to Park Slope and 5th Avenue.
First stop………..COFFEE ………and GREEN TEA for the Donald person.
Tulips from Holland…………$5 a dozen. Take six!
AWAY WE GO………and we went!
The Cast….the Ramones and Jesus! VINYL STORE. They didn’t have any Opera records for Don.
We shopped at Housing Works Thrift store. I bought the Elephant.
Pooch……..named “Nikki” waited outside. Nice doggie.
A text pause.
A pause that needs no text! A bath maybe?
Ciggies…………with tax……..$12 a pack.
Artist at work……by a very cool artist.
A nice place to pause……….a New York Green Space.
A “peeling” mural had a certain appeal.
Muffins at the Bagel Pub………..the sesame bagels were all sold out.
Wall decor was a hoot!
Next stop: Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish. A calm place for a pause……….and a rest for the weary feet.
Holy Moly…..the stained glass windows are amazing.
Cherubim’s just hover.,……and smile.
The Virgin Mother.
Was a perfect time of day to catch the sun coming through the Rose Window.
Iglesia de Santo Tomás Aquino.…..has been here since 1884. It was Saint Thomas who said ……..”Joy is the noblest human act”.
And for some…….the joy of a subway ride is a bit of shut eye. Then it’s back to Manhattan. Home sweet Home.
