Last night at the New York City Ballet…...Stanley Taylor made his debut as “APOLLO”. He was a young God figuring out what he could do. He was elegant……forceful…..divinely cool. It was a brilliant debut.
He is not the conventional blond APOLLO that Chase Finlay was. Stanley has a sense of wildness under control……..abounding with energy.
Watch his video…..marvel at his technique…………ENJOY !

Chase has been my favorite dancer at NEW YORK CITY BALLET ever since he joined the company 10 years ago. The New York Times reported today that he has resigned due to “inappropriate communications” made via emails and personal text.
AMAR RAMASAR and ZACHARY CATAZARO have also been suspended until 2019. It is sad that the ballet company has lost three of their principal dancers.
SARAH JESSICA PARKER “On Pointe” in her Narcisco Rodriguez……..who also designed costumes for the premier of a new ballet. [Thanks to Dimities Kambouris / Getty Images for this photo].
These 20 photos are a sampling of my favorite fashions of the evening.

My friend, Teddy and I have often watched Chase dance with the New York City Ballet.
Today Teddy was tickled to meet him!
……..and they both smiled!
Chase is a principal dancer with the company.
He danced the role of APOLLO.…….this year………to rave reviews.

The magazine I look forward to getting every week is the NEW YORKER. I love this cover…….soooooooo New York.
I dedicate this blog to all of my friends in the New York City Ballet……especially the conductor……..
I know that my friends in the Royal Ballet will get a “kick” out of it too………..especially Claudia, Annette and Dougie Nicholson.
The Donald and I went to Lincoln Center this afternoon to see the New York City Ballet. Out friend Clotilde Otranto was the orchestra conductor for the entire program……music by Tschaikovsky. We saw “SERENADE”………”MOZARTIANA”………..”Pas de DEAUX”………”SUITE No.3”
Chase Finlay danced with Sara Marns in “Theme et Variations“. The ballet forbids taking of photos during a performance………….so instead, I shot the UMBRELLAS coming to the ballet.
The little doggie wearing his red raincoat …………..so cute!

At Lincoln Center last night………the 2013 Fall Gala fundraiser for the New York City Ballet………was in the David Koch Hall. New York’s society and celebrities showed up for a glittery evening. Cocktails of the balcony and dinner after the performance.
The gowns were surprisingly atrocious. One shock after another walked down the red carpet.
NATALIE PORTMAN wore a surprisingly understated dress………fun material but a bit off-putting in baby blue and banana yellow. designed by Brittney Stephens
CLICK ON any gown to enlarge the fashion mistakes.
Too many layers of sheer……
And the little minks in baby blue.
Very navy satin……no flow.
Hide the bulges? NOT!
Tacky but fun.
I like her creativity and the funky handbag
Hide that crotch!
BULGES! In Red Hot RED
BAD BAD COLOR
Funky for an after party
Not too bad.
Those fuffles again
Beautiful for the OPERA….
To frizzy too cerise.
Layers gone wild
Well….it is an Autumn GALA.
Fringe….with those legs?
VEGAS here we come!
Diagonals AND ruffles?
Matha always wear the same short pants.
Shower cap is all she needs to complete the dress
Lace is soooo overdone.
This one I liked.
18 yatds of wasted fabric
Used a sequin bed sheet for this?
What is that white bunch on the hemline?
Bad hair….Bad dress
Very East Side bad taste.
Does anyone know who this atrocity is???
Christmas garland for trim.
22 Little minks gave uo their life for this stole.
So awful it is actually FUN.
Right off the color wheel.
rutches up into the crotch/
What is that gigantic rutch?
Hold it so you don’t trip on it.
HOLLYWOOD here we come.
Ruffles AND scallops?
Halloween is in October!
Where did she buy this?
Looks like the curtain in the hall
Nice for a garden party
She is too old for this dress
Peter Martins………Ballet Master
Very 60’s ……….
SARAH JESSICA PARKER was in a pink something………..the bodice and white bra were designed by Olivier Theyskens [long hair on the left] . The bottom of the dress designed by Probal Gurung [on her right]. It has a large flap pocket on the right thigh………and a slit up the back that the seamstress forgot to sew up.
Can’t figure out the sash belt………..and that oversized bow on the back. At least her earrings were tasteful.
