The VESSEL at Hudson Yards

If you want a view of the HUDSON RIVER…..and you want to climh 152 flights of stairs…………and wait in line for your “ticket to climb”……….head on down to West 34th street.

Is it a honeycomb….or a……….New Yorkers are calling it whatever they want.

It weights 60 tons and cost $150 million.

It is part of a new mega-mall on the Hudson River………even Neiman Marcus has opened a store there………….and 30 new restaurants are scattered about the buildings…….all very UPSCALE.   Tres chic…..and expensive.

PINK CLOUDS over Manhattan

From my terrace….it was a show!  The yellow turned to PINK………..and just kept getting pinker and pinker and darker………..strange but beautiful.

This skyscraper on 57th street is called the WATERFALL……..the windows are hundreds of shades of blue and green and when the sun hits it just right………WATERFALL effect.

Today is the First Day of SPRING

Some plants on my terrace have budded……..to welcome the start of Spring

In a month or so my terrace will return to “life”……….and look like this.

My pots will be filled with seedlings………….

The magnolias will be in bloom……….again

My green sweet potato vines will grow like crazy………

The lillies will grow into their glory…………..

My GREEN THUMBS will swing into action………..

The petunias will overtake their allotted space…………….

The crabapple tree has budded….and soon the flowers will appear.

The rhododendrons have set their buds……….

The LILACS are one my favorite bushes…………and oh their perfume………

New plants and new buildings………..I look forward to the plants……….but the skyscrapers are messing up my views.

My apartment all aglow…….

Not Spring…..not Winter ……..but a beautiful day in Manhattan

DRANSFIELD and ROSS………Designers Extraordinaire

Their designs are………..

mystrieux, EXTRAORDINAIRE, merveilleus.

John Dransfield and Geoffrey Ross have given up their NYC apt…..and moved to the rolling hills of Somerset New Jersey.

The live is a 20 room house called CHERRYFIELDS.

Their favorite thing is to find a treasure at Flea Markets.

There are 7 guest rooms………so you can choose the one you want to sleep in.

This guest room is the favorite of single friends.

Their style in dining is one I like to use in my own apartment.

There are five sitting areas in the house.

Their casual arrangement of flowers is also one that I like to emulate.

The CHAIR………..like no other……….

This is their TV viewing room………oh so comfortable.

I don’t usually like to cover my books with art…..but I do like their choice.

The NAPKINS RINGS are also their design…..and sadly…….they are the only thing I own from their collections.

One of their favorite little sitting rooms……and perfect for a cup of tea.

These photos are by Manuel Rodrigues.

You can see the more of their house on the site of

ONE KING’S LANE

NYC • Under a BLIZZARD watch

Central Park can no longer be seen from my terrace………..and the temperature is below FREEZING.  Brrrrrrrrr……..

But it is nice and cozy inside my apartment.  Drinking hot ginger and honey CHAI tea.
