NYC • Saint Patrick’s Day Parade

 

Parade goers and protestors and LGBT groups lined the parade route on Fifth Avenue.  This year GAYS were allowed to march…………but there were plenty of Christians and Catholics holding up their signs in protest.

 

HOUSING WORKS THRIFT • Fabulous Spring Event

All of the proceeds from HOUSING WORKS THRIFT STORE.……….goes to victims of AIDS……….paying for their meds……rent…….and the many other things they require to survive.

It is a very worthy cause…………Don and I shop here every week.

WAR PAINT on Broadway at the Nederlander Theatre

The theatre only has 1200 seats…………so it was a rush to get everyone outside into the theatre on time……lots of elderly ladies with walkers.

Our dear friend Erik Liberman plays the parts of several characters…………including the “gay sailor”.

TIMES SQUARE in Watercolors

The  giant billboards………..the tourists [one  million per day are in New York] half of them are in Times Square.  Lots of shopping.  Lots of eating.  The RED LOBSTER alone serves 10,000 meals per day.  Theatres fill up.  FUN CITY !

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

FRIENDS dropped in today………

They were in town on a “Spring Break” from collage………so it was a quick in and out……then they were off to STRAWBERRY FIELDS in Central Park.

The John Lennon Memorial in Central Park.  YOKO called it “strawberry Fields”.

MELANIA TRUMP on Broadway

MELANIA and the DONALD………..and now she is the STATUE of LIBERTY…..

welcoming all the refugees and immigrants to America.  Ain’t America GREAT!

NEW YORK CITY circa 1930

I was at the Columbus Avenue Bazaar today [ie….. flea market]….and bought a group of old postcards from the 1920’s and 30’s.  All of these buildings and statues are still standing.
