VEGGIES at the FARMERS MARKET • nyc

These are the FARMERS that I depend on for my fresh produce………[my parents were farmers so I know what back breaking work it is to grow and gather and cart it to market].

I appreciate all of their hard work.

TOMATILLOS

I turn those green tomatillos into a unique SALSA.

FOOD AND WHISKEY at the Farmer’s Market

Every Sundar morning I get my fresh cheese……….bread………pickles…….duck………chicken sausage………and herbal ice tea…………at the local FARMER’S MARKET

And my Nursery guy Chris…….loves the muffins.

WE RECYCLE our GARBAGE in NYC

We schlepp it to the RECYCLE STATION behind the Museum of Natural History

dump it in the bin………..and in the spring we get some back……….as compost.

Plastic bags go into a different bin.

JAPANESE ANEMONE on my Terrace

This summer heatwave is not kind to my terrace garden.  All my plants are in pots…………and they dry out so quickly.

My Japanese Anemone has survived.

I did a watercolor of the flowers this afternoon.

$275 GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH

For 40 years this has been my “GO TO” place for steak………the HOMESTEAD STEAK HOUSE.

It was opened in 1868………..and is a bit pricey……….but….oh the STEAKS!

For the GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH you will have to fork over $275 plus tax and tip.  They use cheese that can only be bought at auction in Japan.

Good homemade PEANUT BUTTER is used………….for $89.

MY PORTERHOUSE is still only $125……….enough for two.

Potatoes are extra.

The many layered chocolate cake is standard fare……….but delicious.

HEAVENLY BODIES at the Met Museum

A fascinating collection at the MET .  Artifacts from the VATICAN and modern fashion influenced by Catholic Vestments.

SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW

We had a very brief shower today in Central Park……….and a DOUBLE RAINBOW……….which I captured from my terrace.

The three building below……San Remo Towers………..the Kenilworth and the Dakota.
