NUDE SUNBATHERS enjoy my Dish Garden

My garden is covered with SCAFFOLDS……[building repairs]……..so I planted a “DISH GARDEN”.

 The planter is 30″ diameter…….and 5″ deep.

Midge and Mike are sculpted from poly plastic.

It is a perfect place to enjoy a good read.

There is no fear of “Limes Disease” in this garden paradise.

Dwarf plants cover every inch of my garden.

The SCALE of the garden is 1″ to 12″…….so the watermelon is one inch.

I sculpted the cats from FIMO CLAY.

Tiny Tommie……scultped from FIMO……is 4 inches tall….

and he LOVES WATER MELLON.

TOM’S TERRACE and the Scaffold Guys

The guys are working hard at pointing the bricks on my terrace and I am working hard on the other side…..trying to plant my garden.

NYC WATER TOWERS………….every high-rise has one

WHERE YA GONNA GET THE WATER………..[that is a Jack Lemmon quote].

From my terrace I watched this one being constructed on top of the Bancroft apartments.

WATER TOWER

Every high-rise apartment building in NYC has one.  Even the skyscrapers.

P1880081

PUMPS pump it up from pipes under the streets…………

P1880073

and GRAVITY brings it into your faucets….and toilets.

P1880079

They are mostly made by hand……………new wood………..that gets water tight when filled up.

P1880073

It is not possible to hoist a wooden tower up by crane………

P1880078

There are only a couple of companies in NY that build them….and they only take one day to construct………and cost about $30,000.

P1880076

A metal water tower requires a crane…………and costs about $130,000 so landlords go for the cheaper wooden towers….and they only need to be replaced every 35 years.
