DIANE von FURSTENBERG Porcelain Dinnerware

Housing Works Thrift store was having a fall sale.  I picked up a set of porcelain designed by Diane von Furstenberg………….a nice addition to my dining collections.

Before I dine on it………..I decided to draw it.

I added my silver creamer to the still-life.

I used 25 different GRAYS to create the art.

I had a little bit of help………from Barbie’s boy friend.  He decided which grays I would use.

BUY your POT at the YMCA

The pottery class at the 63rd street Y is having a POTTERY SALE.  It is never to early to stock up on Christmas gifts.

DOORWAY at the Y

These are the 5 pieces I couldn’t resist…………

The BOTANICAL PRINTS in the background are from the            BOTANICUM book.

This pot now holds my TRADER JOE’S peanut butter pretzels.

The jelly fish platter awaits figs from my terrace garden.

I don’t need another coffee mug…………but I never have enough flower vases.

This ceramic tile will be used as a trivet for my “hot” dishes.

Now I have to figure out how to fit all my new pots onto the “coffee” table.

I appreciate all of their hard work.

TOMATILLOS

I turn those green tomatillos into a unique SALSA.

HOTEL LUTETIA PARIS…….Renovated for $200 million…..and now open.

In the 1920’s……  guests were Charles de Gaulle, James Joyce, Albert Camus.  Picasso and Matisse lived here in the 1030’s.  In the 1950’s Josephine Baker crooned in the bar.

More recent guests ……..Brad Pitt and Catherine Deneuve…..and the list goes on.

After 100 years………the grand LUTETIA is once again grand.  When I stayed here in 1970….my room was $20 [and that was a lot]……..now it is almost $1000.

Bar Josephine…..Murano glass chandeliers ………new baths.  There are seven signature suites  but those go for $5000 a night.
