Waffles were delicious………the company was delightful………..the conversation was all about OPERA.
Cornmeal and cheddar…..bluberries and applesauce……..
and TRADER JOE’S naturally smoked bacon.
Debbie was checking out YALE as a possible UNI where Tami can study.
Tami fell in love with my Easter hat. I did NOT let her wear it back to Scotland.
Could our smiles be any bigger???

James and Jack are on their way to the theater to see “THE KING AND I” at Lincoln Center.
James [singer, actor, dancer] in London is in New York on a holiday.
Jack is in New York on a three month holiday ………. takings a lot of dance classes…….and working as a waiter at Ruby’s Cafe.
Both are having a ball in Manhattan.

Twas’ a beautiful autumn day in NYC………perfect for “tea-time” on the terrace with our friend Pam.
Of course I had to have these “pin cushions”…………[native to South Africa]. My friend there, Simmie………..grows them wild in her garden.
Grilled pork on sesame “brot” from Trader Joe’s.
Apple galette……….butter crust……….4 varieties of apples…….dried cranberries in cassis………browned butter and demerara sugar. NO CINNAMON.
A dab of whipped cream………sweetened with maple syrup.

Pam and Don grew up in the same neighborhood…..at the same time…….”those were the days”.
For lunch it was RED, WHITE and BLUE chips from Trader Joe’s.
GILDED LILY wine from King Ferry Winery………..lobster salad from Citarella.
No Macy’s fireworks this year. They moved the display to the East Side. Bummer!

After a frantic 10 days of NY FASHION WEEK Spring 2014…….we all needed a quiet lunch on my terrace.
Friday started off very iffy! Very overcast.
Mr. Mourning Dove drops in every morning. We call him “Coo Coo”. He hangs around for about an hour…..but keeps an eye out for the Kestral who nests on the tower next to us.
Finally……the sun decided to peek out
Don set up a couple of tables on the terrace
I picked up some flowers at our local farmers market.
There was a chance of showers……so Don set up the umbrellas.
I have never tried the wines of Long Island……..decided to give Peconic a try [way too dry].
CHICKEN SALAD. The trick is to cut the mayo by half and mix in whipped cream.

Trader Joe provided the Macarons. Eat them frozen. Delish
I tried on Ilona’s Karen Walker sunglasses.
They look better on ILONA! What style!
Margo………an art student at Parsons…..and oh so talented.

ILONA in my art studio……..and a few naked cowboys. At 95 she is still kicking up her heels.
She played several sonatas for us. Loverly!

FIGS and BLUE CHEESE……….a luncheon fit for the Gods………..and moi!
I grow the figs on my terrace………..usually about two dozen ripen…….all at once.
OK……so I threw in a cosmos or two into the mix.
Gazania Ringens……….passion flowers…….curl and twine over my trellis.
These peaches came from Trader Joe’s…….no fuzz, no fuss. Just sweet and juicy.
PEACHES and ZINNIAS………….my favorite fruit and my favorite flower.
