BARRED OWL in Central Park Today

My artist friend….LEE….took this photo of the

They sleep high up in the Eastern pine trees…..they feast of rats….and when they vocalize it sounds like……….”WHO COOKS FOR YOU”.

Listen to the MOCKINGBIRD

This sweet little baby mockingbird landed my terrace this morning……..

Stayed around long enough to eat a dozen PORCELAIN BERRIES.

They are very poisonous….but it doesn’t seem to affect the mocking bird.

The other birds who visit my terrace………..like the BLUEJAYS and the CARDINALS……..never eat these berries.

SUNRISE and SUNSET from my Terrace

The SUNRISE this morning was a wonder………..

This afternoon it was a CLOUD wonder……….

And tonight the SUNSET was another wonder………….

making it a wonderful end to a wonderful day.

IN MEMORY of Madison Jane Lyden

Madi was riding her bike here on Central Park West……….she was struck and killed by a car.  This MEMORIAL is to her memory.

At age eleven Madi wrote……..”I am a curious person who loves adventure”

It is a tragic loss for her family and her friends and the world.

SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW

We had a very brief shower today in Central Park……….and a DOUBLE RAINBOW……….which I captured from my terrace.

The three building below……San Remo Towers………..the Kenilworth and the Dakota.

CHILDREN of IMMIGRATION

My little friends “THE TWINS” and their little sister CASSIE..…set up their LEMONADE STATION in Columbus Circle last Sunday………and raised $2500 for IMMIGRANT CHILDREN’S RIGHTS.  WOW !!!

Some of their little friends helped them sell the lemonade……at $1.00 a plastic cup!  That’s a lot of lemons………..supplied by COUNTRY TIME LEMONADE.

NY TIMES 1978 photos at the ARSENAL GALLERY

The current show at the GALLERY in the ARSENAL in Central Park………..photographs that were commissioned in 1978. The New York Times asked 8 of their  photographers to record activities in the city’s parks.

Recently……….3000 of these photographs were unearthed….. hidden away in 2 boxes in the Arsenal.

68 of these photos are on display………….

you can see all of them………..until June 14th.

In the summer of 1978 I spent every Sunday afternoon at Bethesda Fountain….wearing my BELLBOTTOMS!
