I buy my “still-life at the Whole Foods Market. I draw it…..then I cook it.
Then I eat it.

TOMS RECIPE for shredded RED cabbage
Cut a head of RED CABBAGE in half.
I did a watercolor before I cooked it.
Slice it very thinly………..
Dice it………
Bring to a boil in 1/2 c water……..with S and P and one teaspoon caraway seeds. Douce with 2 tbs of red wine vinegar. Add a bay leaf and 2 cloves of garlic. Reduce to a simmer for 25 mins.
Saute your favorite sausage.
Serve with a cold beer. ENJOY.

Then I arranged the FIGS in a dotty dish………
This was my sketch for the FIG layout.

Chose my color pallet for the FIGS.….31 colors in all……..
This is the final watercolor of my FIGS.
Then I pickled the FIGS.………..and will eat them tomorrow with a pork roast.
[My mother taught me how to pickle fruit when I was 10 years old].
