What is the best part of living in New York. It isn’t the Broadway Shows…..or the Met Opera…..or the NYC Ballet…..or the Museums….it is the PEOPLE.
Who are these people. What do they do. Where do they live? How do they live?
Imagining about their lives is endless fascination for me.
I LOVE NEW YORK.

The MURALS have been destroyed. Jerry Wolcoff….the new owner of the building……..moved in his painters under cover of darkness……….and painted over the murals…….which are now gone forever.
Jerry said that since the building now belongs to him….he could do whatever he wanted with the murals……..so destroyed these works of art……which were known as the worlds largest open-air aerosol open museum.
But the artists took the owner to court. A Federal Court judge Frederic Block ruled that the 21 graffiti artists had to rewarded……$150,000 for each of the 45 destroyed works of art. HOORAY !
These fantastic GRAFFITI MURALS cover the entire warehouse……with the owners permission. New Yorkers are trying to get the art “landmarked” so they cannot be destroyed.
BETHESDA FOUNTAIN at it’s prettiest…….under snow.
Fifth ave in the background….the Dakota Apartments in the foreground.
This shot of BOW BRIDGE was taken from my terrace.
Jiahn Kang’s BROOKLYN FLORAL DELIGHT bakery is now in the East Village on 10th street.
Succulents and baby cacti…..you can eat…..thorns and all.
Her cake are so delightful…….I didn’t want to slice into it.
At my next terrace party….these will be a hit.
The MINI’S are a one bite wonder…..with a melt in your mouth buttercream.
“SKAZKA“….that’s Russian for brunch. Heavy and hardy but delicious cooking is what you get when you dine at Mari Anna’s in Gramercy Park.
Very Victorian…….very shabby chic…….very opulently filled with “tchotchke’s”. Every table has a charming bouquet of flowers.
Don and Tom and Diane……friends for 50 years……and counting.
The menu is limited….but BE WARNED………the food is very very rich……….dripping with cream sauces and butter.
Sweet little change purse……..your bill arrives folded up inside. Cute touch! If you have ordered the infused Russian vodka….that is an additional $300. True!

This weeks TIME OUT magazine calls New York the CITY OF COLOR.
As I stroll the streets I snap people with tattoos. When I ask them to let me photo the art, no one has ever said “NO”.
