DAKOTA APARTMENTS ROOF TOP

Snow on the roof of the Dakota apartments………

actually they are called “flats”

The “flats” are 8 rooms up to 20 rooms………..tho many have been combined to create 30 room apartments.

The 30′ skylight window is Ward’s apartment………two windows….

one on each side

The tower in the background is my apartment

MAJESTIC APARTMENTS on FIRE

I wasn’t at home when the flames were leaping out the window………but as I TURNED THE CORNER………. 14 fire engines and 4 ambulances were in front of my apartment building.

It was a duplex on the second and third floor……….completely burned out………and water damages from the fire hoses ruined several floors and the lobby.

No word yet on how the fire started………..but the fire department responds from many firehouses when there is a reported fire in a highrise building. The fire was directly across the street from the Dakota Apartments……where John Lennon was shot.

AUTUMN on my TERRACE

The trees in Central Park are in their full glory……..just in time for the NYC MARATHON.

The view from my terrace…………overlooking the Dakota apartments.

The Autumn sunsets are always spectacular.

SNOW DAY in New York…was a BLIZZARD

We did NOT get the predicted 24″ of snow………..just a nice dusting……..as you can see in these watercolors. BUT….tomorrow it will be dirty nasty grey sludge.

The Dakota Apartments at Central Park West and 72s street………….and the benches just inside the park.
