RAINBOW over Central Park

A very brief thunderstorm in the late afternoon………….and a sliver of a rainbow……casting a brilliant light over my terrace.

TOM’S TERRACE……..installing new red tiles

It was such a disaster watching my garden get destroyed………the tiles were leaking into the apartment below.  My neighbor was annoyed!

The workers did a really great job………perfect pitch so the rain drains away………and doesn’t end up in my apartment.

Returned to a beautiful garden and ready for summer parties.

SPRINGTIME on my Terrace

The sunrise this morning………..so full of the colors in my garden.  The rhododendrons and the geraninums and the petunias………oh so glorius.

OUR FIRST SNOW • nyc 2017

The planting of my CHRISTMAS TREES

What screams CHRISTMAS more than a Balsam Fir!  You can go to a tree farm and pick out the one you want.  But how are you gonna do that when you live in New York City???

You call……..TRILLIUM DESIGN GROUP.  They will bring a touch of nature to your door.

Balsam_Fir

I called ……….and they delivered………..2 beautiful BALSAM FIR………..and three cute guys to plant them…….Jose, Brent and Patrick. [ TRIVIA:  The resin from Balsam Fir was used to treat wounds in the Civil war].

TRILLIUM DESIGN GROUP can design and install your inground landscaping…….your rooftop…….or your terrace.

P-TERR0016

It tasks a lot of muscle to hoist a 240 pound tree [in it’s burlap wrapped clay ball]………..and drop it into my Griffen planters.  These guys were terrific.

The birds love it up here………….the bees are a happy lot……….and the resident morning dove seems satisfies with his roosting spot.  As for the ants…….

MY TERRACE IN AUTUMN

The view over Central Park was glorious this morning is the muted sunlight.  FIFTH AVENUE was glowing.  Just above the trees……on the left…….the house with the green roof………is where mayor Bloomberg lives.  He chose not to live in the Mayors Mansion on the Upper East Side during his 12 year reign.

Bow Bridge is in the lower right hand corner. Lots of weddings take place on this bridge.

Will I use this CUCURBITA to make PUMPKIN PIE?  No.  I buy it in a can at Whole Foods.

P-GARD 0053

I thought a bird might built a nest in the basket!  NOT!  The mockingbird chose my holly bush instead.

Another bird house that was not used!

The sunset last night was wild.  Dorothy….are we in Kansas???  No, but there were 40 horrible tornados in the Midwest.

My Viburnam is not a happy camper.  A CARPENTER BEE bore into the trunk…….ate out the insides………and my poor little tree will have to get chopped down tomorrow.

The front terrace is still somewhat green………very wierd for the middle on November.
