DESIGN ON A DIME.…….a benefit to support Housing Works Thrift Shops new venture…….the HULL STREET RESIDENCE………a from-the-ground-up housing development that will transform a vacant lot into a beautiful and safe home for 26 single people, formerly homeless adults living with HIV/AIDS.

Top interior designers have created a room that represents their “style”.  Everything in every room is for sale……..today thru sunday.

DESIGN ON A DIME / Raising money to fight AIDS

HOUSING WORKS THRIFT STORE had a gala event last night at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea.  Lots of champagne…………with an entrance fee of $200………gotta pay for that champagne.  $100,000 was raised………..all going to fight AIDS.  It was a night of fab and glam!

The room settings were designed and donated by some of the leading Interior designers in New York City.  Everything was for sale.  By the end of the show on Sunday…..it hopes to raise $250,000.  All of it going to help victims of AIDS.

DESIGN ON A DIME 25 Room Settings

DESIGN ON A DIME………..a spectacular fund raiser……put together by Housing Works Thrift Stores…………raising money for people living with AIDS.  The event is hosted in the Metropolitan Pavilion on West 18th street.

There were 50 room settings this year………..each done by a noted designer……….every thing is donated………and for sale…….all at reasonable prices.  There were hundreds of donors who made this event possible.  A few of them:  ACE HOTEL……….APARTMENT 48……….BALLARD DESIGNS……..CALVIN KLEIN HOME……BLOOMINGDALE’S……… CHRISTOFLE……..COWTAN & TOUT.
