Zaviars Restaurant is housed in this Victorian Pier…………the only pier like it on the Hudson river.
The three walls of glass frame vistas of the George Washington Bridge AND the Tapanzee Bridge.
T’was a foggy day…….but the Manhattan skyline was there. How comforting!
If your “flambé dessert” was a bit too torched…………the Fire Rescue boat is right outside your window……just yell!
The Empire State Building looms in the distance………as does the new “Billionaires Building” at 157 West 57th street!
BUT…..you don’t have to be a BILLIONAIRE to dine at Xaviars……….$24 for a pre fixe lunch is a “steal”.
Nice touch at the hostess desk.
Yes……it was my first trip to Yonkers. But worth the 30 minute ride. Peter Kelly has created a class act with this restaurant. Take the Amtrack…….$5. The restaurant is just a few steps from the station.
When I went to the Loo……three elderly ladies were in there……….wondering why it had two urinals……I guided them to the Ladies Loo.
Art just outside the bathroom door.
I did appreciate the orchid bowl on each table.
$15 a glass……..and strangely “unfruity” for a Riesling. Marion’s Chardonnay was a better choice.
We were all charmed by Sam……a delightful waiter. On our next visit we will ask for him again.
A bit tough those Coconut Shrimp……….[can’t really blame the little critters for this]. Dijon Mustard was the sauce.
Pasta and shrimp……and crispy little sticks. Nice touch. Asian touches.
5 Spice Grilled Skirt Steak………mashed and beans……Ed loved this dish.
Miso Glazed COD with Fregola…….[pasta from Sardenia]. Wonderful combo.
Pan Roasted Hudson Valley Chicken…….crackly skin…RERFECT! Spatzel ……….[reminded me of my years spent in Germany]. Pea Pods ” Al Dente”. Perfect.
Sam replenishes the Donald with more rolls. Warm and we all ate at least three.
This is a different.! White chocolate……..tasty!. Morello cherries sauce. Nice to look at….nice to eat.
This flan was Marsha’s favorite. Light…….easy to devour……….and she asked for more.
