After lunch at the boat house we strolled over to theBethesda Fountain……and met this sweet couple from Australia………..Jayde and John. She has been to NYC four times……..this is John’s first visit.
The weather was fantastic. The geese…….the tulips…..the sketch artists………the “bubble boy”………the brides…….the turtles……….and thousands of tourist……….all enjoying Central Park.
New Yorkers try to beautify their street. I do it in my TREE PITS.

CENTRAL PARK in the Spring.
Awakening…….beautiful…….blossoming………chirping………colorful……..fragrant……..rejuvenating………renewing………spring green………..sweet smelling.

BETHESDA FOUNTAIN.………Angel of the Waters………rising from Bethesda Terrace………..created by Emma Stebbins…………the first woman to ever received a public art commission in New York City.
The CONSERVATORY GARDEN in Central Park is at it’s most beautiful in Spring. It is divided into three gardens……..Italian, French and English. Two exquisite allées of pink and white crabapple trees.
A 12 foot fountain plays on the western lawn………tiered hedges lead up to the wisteria pergola . The Burnett memorial fountain is a stature of two children by the sculptor Bessie Potter Vonnah. The Three Dancing Maidens fountain is by Walter Schott. The magnificent gate leading into the park is from the Vanderbilt mansion.

Tripped thru Central Park today to see my Eye Doc……caught the tulips and the blossoms in bloom…..and a few New Yorkers doing their thing. Snapped a lady in bed at the Ralph Lauren Store. A cute guy in Harem Pants…….and the toilet in the New Museum on the Bowery.
Some graffiti…….a Nespresso cup in their window………nude lady’s butt for sale in a gallery on Madison. Magenta may be a new trend!

The thermometer hit 65 today………and New Yorkers headed for their beloved park. The “bubble Boy” was there. A dozen weddings. Musicians everywhere. Cyclists………roller bladders. Hansom cabs. Sun worshipers. The Gondolier singing on the lake. Hikers, runners. Cute dogs. Adorable kids.
The young lady with the guitar is part of the PEACE INDUSTRY MUSIC GROUP. Beautiful voices………appearing at the Bethesda Fountain on week-ends.

The Bronx Botanical Garden……a place of beauty covering 250 acres of……..architecture, sculpture, fountains, flowers, the conservatory, ponds, waterfalls, wetlands and some very pretty ladies…….with a cute guy here and there.
Spring flowers………tree blossoms………and of course the ORCHID SHOW.
I shall return when the lilacs and peonies are in bloom.
Saturday morning breakfast is always the same menu. GRITS, fried tomato, white toast, jumbo egg and jam.
And, of course, the New York Times. It’ a steal at $350 a year delivered right to your door every morning at 6am……or steal at from your neighbor……for free.
The subway station at 72nd street is a gem…….right in front of the Ansonia Apartments.
Another “Jim”……….or some would say…….”carrot top”.
Over the Manhattan Bridge into Brooklyn……and 6 more stops to Park Slope and 5th Avenue.
First stop………..COFFEE ………and GREEN TEA for the Donald person.
Tulips from Holland…………$5 a dozen. Take six!
AWAY WE GO………and we went!
The Cast….the Ramones and Jesus! VINYL STORE. They didn’t have any Opera records for Don.
We shopped at Housing Works Thrift store. I bought the Elephant.
Pooch……..named “Nikki” waited outside. Nice doggie.

A pause that needs no text! A bath maybe?
Ciggies…………with tax……..$12 a pack.
Artist at work……by a very cool artist.
A nice place to pause……….a New York Green Space.
A “peeling” mural had a certain appeal.
Muffins at the Bagel Pub………..the sesame bagels were all sold out.
Wall decor was a hoot!
Next stop: Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish. A calm place for a pause……….and a rest for the weary feet.
Holy Moly…..the stained glass windows are amazing.
Cherubim’s just hover.,……and smile.
The Virgin Mother.
Was a perfect time of day to catch the sun coming through the Rose Window.
Iglesia de Santo Tomás Aquino.…..has been here since 1884. It was Saint Thomas who said ……..”Joy is the noblest human act”.
And for some…….the joy of a subway ride is a bit of shut eye. Then it’s back to Manhattan. Home sweet Home.
