FLEET WEEK and WALL STREET

It was time for “day tripping”…….down to SOHO and Wall Street.

FIRST STOP……….Balthazar’s Restaurant in SOHO!.  Loud and very noisy. We did not stay!

Off to the Crosby Street Hotel…. a quiet and civilized spot for lunch.

It is FLEET WEEK in NY City……….three of our “finest”………..and cute to boot!

National Museum of the American Indian at ONE BOWLING GREEN in lower Manhattan………..and admission is FREE!

Our friends from Detroit were amazed at the ceiling of the ornate “Collectors Room………….

The magnificent the oval ceiling was built using the principles of the Spanish engineer Rafael Gustavino. The 140 ton skylight was constructed with our any visible signs of support.

What is it???  The roof over the new subway station………the one that was destroyed by the 9/11 terrorist attack.  The memorial and the museum is now open to the public.
