SALMAGUNDI ARTIST’S CLUB nyc

The Salmagundi Club for artists was founded in 1871.  Winston Churchill was an honorary member.

It is housed in a historic brownstone on Lower fifth avenue.

The club fosters an atmosphere of conviviality that leads to a lasting friendship between artists, members and patrons.

The halls are hung with pallets of many of the famous artists that have belonged to the club.

Did it belong to William Chase……..Childe Hassam……Howard Pyle…….maybe N.C.Wyeth?

All of the clubs facilities are available for your own private party.

The collection in the Library is astounding.

I have spent many pleasant hours pouring over the tomes.

And…..hello to you too !

The club has more than 1500 works of art in it’s collection.

A beautiful parlor…….a pleasant setting to meet with your friends.
