A stroll in CENTRAL PARK today

After lunch at the boat house we strolled over to theBethesda Fountain……and met this sweet couple from Australia………..Jayde and John.  She has been to NYC four times……..this is John’s first visit.

The weather was fantastic.  The geese…….the tulips…..the sketch artists………the “bubble boy”………the brides…….the turtles……….and thousands of tourist……….all enjoying Central Park.

ROBERT is on the top floor of the Museum of Arts and Crafts………on Columbus Circle.  Table with a window view……….and a burger to match.

RICARDO CID artist in residence at MAD Biennial

NYC Makers……the MAD Biennial on Columbus Circle………showcasing 100 artists, artisans, designers and other makers in the five boroughs of NYC.

RICARDO CID was nominated by one of the 300 cultural leaders……..then selected by a panel of ten.

His roots…………math……biochemistry and systems………and he uses these in the creation of his 3-D works.

RICARDO…..trained as a mechanical engineer……..and a programmer by trade.

Using symbols……lines and color he has created a visual language expressing complex mathematical equations employed in his art.

You can watch him work in his open studio at the the MAD.…..Museum of Art and Design.

His APPLE is used to program the sound……ie, music……..and the mechanical movements of his pieces.

CID produces his work by blending the traditional hand-made signage techniques of his native Mexico City.

The city suspended parking regulations two week ago……….so car owners have not had to move out………or dig their way out.

BRUNO is not bothered by all this.  He just hikes his leg up on the ice…………and melts a bit of it with his a yellow stream.

 

STARS brighten the night at Time Warner NYC

It’s a delight at night to watch the STARS at Time Warner in Columbus Circle.

At 5 pm music accompanies the changing of the colors.  Magical.

25 fab Trees around NYC

Thousands of trees light up New York at Christmas.  I look forward to them all every year.  When I lived in Detroit I decorated trees like this for J.L.Hudson’s.
