It is a tragedy that a city as wealthy as NYC cannot solve the problem of providing homes for these people.

His clothes are abandoned umbrella that he found in trash cans.  Rags on his feet for shoes.

  1. It is a sad reflection of our ‘progressive’ society’s disregard for the basic needs of human beings. Similar circumstances in my Australian town. A small percentage choose a homeless tropical lifestyle but the majority are aboriginal Australians from whom we stole the land yet don’t have the compassion and decency to ensure they live comfortably in a land of so many riches. Thanks for sharing your documentary photographs.
