THANKSGIVING FEAST …….advance prep

Twelve dishes I will be serving at my Thanksgiving feast………calories are ignored.  Lots of cream, butter, buttermilk and mascarpone………..oh yes, lard for all my pastry crusts.

  3. Bob insisted on using bear fat for his pastries. He took my son bear hunting and did shoot one; left all the meat with the man who ran the hunt, but brought home the fat (taken in the spring when it’s best) and the skin.
    He was right about the fat – it made delicious pastry and it had a good taste by itself – not greasy like most lard.
