EGON SCHIELE “Portraits” Exhibition at the Neue Galerie

EGON SCHIELE …….one of the greatest artists of the 20th century was born in 1890 and died at the young age of 28……..the Spanish Flu …….just  four days after his wife and child died. A very short and tragic life.

This exhibition of his portraits is extraordinary………all done in his teens and early twenties.  Family, patrons, fellow students and self portraits.  There are 250 works in this exhibition………..all of them very emotional.  Many of them will leave you breathless……..and speechless.

The mansion was bought by Ronald Lauder for a museum where he could show house his art collection.
