Paris was the height of fashion…….and New York’s high society crossed the ocean to buy custom made garments by couturier’s who were happy to accept vast fortunes for their dresses.

Charles Frederick Worth was the most desired couturier of all the designers.  He designed this fancy dress costume “Infanta Margarita after Velazquez”.  It was worn by Ms. Kate Brice to the Bradley-Martin Ball in 1897.
