SOMETIMES LIFE IS JUST A BLURrrrrrrrrrr

I know a few people that find life easier because it is just a blur……no details to confuse them………Maybe they are the lucky ones.

Rita Ellis Hammer……….singer and former fashion model……always looks chic on the streets of New York.

Lunch was a blur………..at Il Pomodoro on Columbus………[maybe because I was celebrating another birthday].

NEW YORK CITY BALLET

When we got to Lincoln Center………..it was bright and sunny………..no rain in sight……..[we've already had 60 inches  this year] .

Chase Findley wasn’t dancing today…..but was there for all of his admirers.

Security in NYC was beefed up today…………

Clotilde Otranto was conducting today……..Mercurial Manoeuvres……Music by Dmitri shostakovich……..choreography by Christopher Wheeldon.

We picked up our “comps” at the ticket window…………thank you Clotilde.

Curtain up!  I got caught with the camera and was told NO PHOTOS ! ! !

During intermission we views the photos of the dancers along the balcony.

Our friend…..Charles Askegard was dancing today…….”EPISODES”………..choreography by George Balanchine.  Soon Charles will have his final bow.  Farewell performance is October 9th.

Jonathan Stafford joined the company in 1999.

Wendy Whelan has been a principal since 1991.  OMG…..she is such an incredible dancer.

Out on the balcony………..second Intermission……and it is RAINING!

Usually the fountain is surrounded with people…….

Ran into our actor friend……..Shawn Kingston.………who has worked with Tiler Peck a principal ballerina since 2009.

Housing Works Thrift volunteers……….Teddy and Gayle……were our guests today.  To very lovely ladies.

When it rains………a taxi is the only way to get home…….yes, of course we had no umbrellas!

SUNDAY MORNING IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD

My first stop is always the Flower Market……………today was lilac time.

Antonio always  brings fabulous blooms.

“On my way to church and can’t get a cab ! God dam it !”

Honey!  This is how you catch a cab!

Rodney is a regular at the Flea Market.………and always in a different [and unusual] outfit.

Paulo…………a vendor from Florida…………arrives every spring with a new load of  trash and treasures.  I got a teapot.   [I now have 14]!

I bought the green bowl.  He did NOT buy the book.

The Muffin Shop…….one bench…….but we share it.  We do NOT share the

muffins.

A stop at Housing Works Thrift is a must.

Thin is sooooooooooooooo “in”…………..even the shoes.

Gotham Bikes biker…….but can he walk in those shoes?
