CHRISTMAS TREES NYC 2013

These are a few of the 500 photos I took of trees around the city.  There weren’t any that “WOWED” me over.  Not this year.  Very little creativity……..no new themes……not even one little “Charlie Brown” tree to be seen!

The tree in my lobby is probably my favorite…… decorated be very sweet little kids.

I donated MY CHRISTMAS TREE to Lincoln Center

My tree made it to Lincoln Center and was hoisted up onto the balcony of the Metropolitan Opera House.

25 fab Trees around NYC

Thousands of trees light up New York at Christmas.  I look forward to them all every year.  When I lived in Detroit I decorated trees like this for J.L.Hudson’s.

LUNCH at Lillie Langtry’s

Lillie’s is  a great spot in the Theatre District to grab a burger and a beer before or after a Broadway show.

Lillie Langtry would love this place ………[if she were still alive].  In 1887 she appeared in New York on Broadway as Lady Macbeth…….and was paid $6000 a week.  The critics hated her performance….but the public loved her.

The decor…….Victorian  to an excess………but that was Victoriana in the 1880’s.

Oh Lillie !   She had an infamous affair with the future King Edward Vll……then she became pregnant by the Prince of wales……….and that same year became the first society woman to appear on the stage.

Blue Moon Belgian White………from Golden Colorado!  Hello Coors!!!  Has a coriander nose……slightly sour waft but is floral and gently malty.  Nice !

HOLIDAY SHOPS at Union Square

Union Square puts on a fun Christmas fest and New Yorkers get giddy with glee as they stalk the stalls.  Shopping mania begins here.

George Washington himself hovers over 100 artists and craftsmen who rent these tiny little stalls.

You are instantly greeted with festive decorations, cookies, wine, apple cider, and Santa Claus.

Sigmunds Pretzels……with that spicy mustard are a favorite.
