Lunch with the SPOTTED PIG

It easy to find this restaurant ……….you can’t miss this life size pig hanging over the sidewalk.

Mario Batalli opened this New York Gastro Pub………..and from the opening day it has been a hit.

Pig heaven……or just tacky?  Looks like my mother’s collection.

The menu is painted on the mirror………easy to see.

The obligatory Irish Stout.

Shoestring potato fries……..pretty to look at……..just don’t try eating them all.

This was a melted Gouda thingie………tastes better than it looks.

The Pig is famous for it’s $20 BLUE CHEESE  You don’t want the blue cheese……then you can’t have a burger.  You want the BLUE CHEESE on the side………fugget about it. NO exceptions.

BANANA CREAM PUDDING………….I ate all of it.

And I did need a cup go coffee.  And three refills.

The room is cozy……funky…….with another odf those pigs hanging from the ceiling.

Will I return……yes……. I go there about once a month……but they don’t take reservations.

Get there for an early lunch and you will definitely get a table……or you can cozy up to the bar.  A glass of champagne is $21.

Even in the winter the SPOTTED PIG manages to keep pots of herbs growing on the sidewalk.
