“out-of-towners”………out and about ON THE TOWN.  Morning starts at the Boathouse in Central Park…………coffee and the best muffins in town.

Then its off to the Met Museum.

Central Park, Bergdorf’s,  Central Park Zoo,  Trump Tower……..we did at all.  Even stopped in at Tiffany’s.  [Audrey Hepburn was nowhere to be seen].

The John Lennon Memorial “IMAGINE” in the Strawberry Fields area in Central Park……always a tourist destination.

ON Broadway, we met Rita Ellis Hammer…………one of New York’s glamorous ladies.  Model, singer and such a beautiful person.  Always nice to run into her.

My daily stroll in Central Park……..over to the Bethesda Fountain………..I chanced upon a young man disrobing……..OH MY!

NEW YEAR’S DAY 2012 in Central Park

January 1st, and thousands descended on Central Park.  Man and beast alike.

For a while………..my apartment building was shrouded in a mist………

Romance filled the air…….

Furry friends frolicked too………..

The berries must be poison?  Nary a bird has bothered them.

My apartment reflected in the lake.

Bethesda Fountain drew the crowds.

Was the first time I have ever seen kids sitting IN the fountain.

But is is always sad to see this homeless man……..he lives somewhere in the park.

He is always blowing bubbles………….

And is bubbles are spectacular.

“Roll over Beethoven”……….. and enjoy watching the Bubble Guy.

Frisbee Boy……….twists and twirls.

Twist and twirl…..she does it nearly every day in the park.

What a day to just sit and talk and bask in the sun.

The Donald walks off into the twilight.  It was a beautiful day in New York.

I went for a short walk………….it lasted 4 hours.

What the heck?  It’s only 5 p.m.  and it’s already DARK in Central Park.

How to beat the DOG DAYS OF SUMMER

Even the doggies are suffering……….lots of tongues hanging out.

Bask on a rock………seems like it would be cooler in the water !

Hire a carriage……..and leave the trotting to the horse.

Pretend you are in Hawaii.

Cool off in Times Square. [Yeah, right]!

Take a shower in the fountain in Washington Square.

Paddle around in the pool at my Swim Club.

Estelle took a dip…..and maybe one too many!

Or reserve a Cabana for the day………with the Opera House nearby.

Paddle with Ocean Kayak……..in the Hudson River……….it’s free.

Take a cruise around Manhattan.

Catch a breeze along the Hudson River………..but today it is too DAMN hot.

Row your boat………or sit in the shade under Bow Bridge.

Carry a big umbrella.

Carry a small umbrella.

Sit under a paper umbrella.

Sit in the shade……..under your umbrella.

Take a nap in the garden at MOMA.

Wear something airy and frilly.

DO NOT sit in an outdoor cafe…………way to caliente!

Ride the WHAC A MOLE at the Wohlman Rink.

Hang out on the Great Lawn…at 80th street.

Sit on a pier in the Hudson River.

Sit on a chair in Times Square……….it is the ONLY thing that is FREE !

Cool your feet in the Yacht Pond of the East Side of the park.

Hike up your skirt and walk in Bethesda Fountain.

Climb out your window…….with your dog…….and sit on a ledge.  DUH!

Or just “air condition” your legs with holes in your stockings.

In New York…..anything goes.
