The PIZZA MAN delivers to Ellen at the OSCARS

OSCARS NIGHT 2014.  Ellen Degeneres called for a PIZZA delivery. Edgar Martirosyan showed up with three.  Ellen tricked him and suddenly he was on the stage with millions of viewers around the world looking at him.

He never lost his cool.  Ellen passed the hat and collected a $600 TIP.

Today the “PIZZA MAN” appeared on Ellen’s show and she gave him the tip plus a cool extra $1000.  Ellen, that was a”kool thing” to do.  It is one of the reasons we all love you.

Brad Pitt nabbed a slice. Chiwetel Ejiofor gets one from Ellen.  He of course, was the star in 12 years a slave……..playing Solomon Northup.

Lunch with the SPOTTED PIG

It easy to find this restaurant ……….you can’t miss this life size pig hanging over the sidewalk.

The Pig is famous for it’s $20 BLUE CHEESE  You don’t want the blue cheese……then you can’t have a burger.  You want the BLUE CHEESE on the side………fugget about it. NO exceptions.

Will I return……yes……. I go there about once a month……but they don’t take reservations.

Get there for an early lunch and you will definitely get a table……or you can cozy up to the bar.  A glass of champagne is $21.

LUNCH in the West Village

It was a balmy 55 degrees today in Manhattan.  New Yorkers took to the streets……and the outdoor cafes.  We decided it was time for a trek to the West Village.  I always have to check out lots of Restaurants before I decide on one.

We ended up at the SPOTTED PIG………..see my next BLOG.

The Donald decided it was to be a RAINBOW day!

Holiday Fair GRAND CENTRAL TERMINAL

This is the annual Holiday Fair at Grand Central Station.  A shopping extravaganza held in the magnificent VANDERBILT HALL.  62 hand-picked artisans are selling unusual and exotic goods.   In between your shopping spree take time to enjoy the famous laser light show on the ceiling of the terminal.

At the HUT STUDIOS you will delight in the handmade boxes collaged with photos of buildings on the streets of New York.  My favorite box is the Dakota Apartments [ It was here that John Lennon was murdered on the sidewalk].

WINTER’S EVE at Lincoln Square

Tonight at the Time Warner Center…………and in Lincoln Square…..the annual “WINTER’S EVE” kicked off with entertainment…….musicians………tumblers…….lighting of the Christmas Tree, the Polka Dance Band and SANTA CLAUS showed up at Gracious Home.

NEW YORKERS by the thousands showed up for the festivities and the food.

The lighting of the Christmas Tree began at 5:30 in Dante Park.

New Yorkers turned out by the thousands for the first Christmas celebration in the streets.

Every store, bank and restaurant in the area participated in the fun with special activities for kids.

Starting at 5pm………music accompanies the STARS as they change colors.

Mariachi Puebla tooted on their horns……

The Polka Dance Band.………worked up the crowd……..

Lady on her stilts kept the tots amused……and there was face painting with the Big Apple Circus.

Ice Carvers were in front of the Mormon Tabernacle…….buzz saws buzzing.

La Boite en Bois dished out RAVIOLI with leeks, spinach, goat cheese and icotta.  Was it yummy!  No !  Was the server yummy…….YES!

LANDMARC was spooning up ORECCHIETTI ala Toscana.  Was it delicious?  YES 

“Chestnuts Roasting  on an Open Fire”……….$5 a bag……for 5 pieces.

It was a fun evening………even if the weather was cold and damp.
