AMERICAN TABLE Cafe and Bar at FASHION WEEK nyc 2013

Marcus Samuelsson has opened his new cafe……..the AMERICAN TABLE Cafe and Bar in Lincoln Center at Tully Hall.  The space is simple but spectacular.The menu is a bit quirky but not if you crave Cabot Cheddar and pickled onions on a biscuit [$9].  Ham is extra.

Lunch at the Gotham is always a pleasure……..and has been so for 27 years,,,,,,,, ever since it opened in Greenwich Village.  Chef  Alfred Portale’s cuisine draws New Yorkers back to his restaurant over and over.

Every “Restaurant Week Menu” seems to offer SALMON !  Here it is served up with Calypso beans, escarole, thumbelina carrots in a white wine emulsion.  Currently “emulsions” are all the rage………but it works here.
